Teaching

At Wake Forest University

  • Bayesian Analysis (Graduate - Spring 2026)

An introduction to Bayesian statistics with an emphasis on probabilistic programming, computational implementation, and applied problem solving. Course begins with a quick introduction to Bayesian thinking theoretically and proceeds to introduce Stan and Pyro with a series of modeling examples. The course concludes with month-long applied projects of the students' choosing.

  • Probability (Undergraduate and Graduate - Fall 2025/Spring 2026)

Introduction to probability theory requiring only calculus as a prerequisite. Covers fundamental concepts including counting of outcomes, the arithmetic of random events, the concepts of random variables and distributions, and methods of transforming random variables.

  • Elementary Probability and Statistics (Undergraduate - Fall 2024/Spring 2025)

Undergraduate introductory statistics, covering statistical summary and visualization, elementary probability, confidence intervals, and hypothesis tests. Includes a weekly lab where students learn the fundamentals of programming in R.

At Columbia University

As Instructor:
  • Introduction to Statistical Reasoning (Undergraduate - Fall 2022)

An undergraduate introductory statistics class which assumes no mathematical background and emphasizes concepts over formulas and calculations.

  • Explorations in Data Science (High School - Spring 2020 to Present)

Taught through the Sciences Honors Program, which offers college-level topics courses on the weekends for talented high school students. Through this program, I have given lectures on topics including regression modeling, Bayesian statistics, and the replication crisis.

As teaching assistant:
  • Applied Data Science (M.S. in Data Science - Spring 2023)
  • Statistical Inference and Modeling (M.S. in Data Science - Fall 2022)
  • Applied Statistics I (Ph.D. in Statistics - Fall 2021)
  • Generalized Linear Models (M.S. in Statistics - Spring 2021)
  • Introduction to Statistics (Undergraduate - Fall 2020)
  • Introduction to Statistical Reasoning (Undergraduate - Spring 2020)
  • Probability and Statistics for Data Science (M.S. in Data Science - Fall 2019)
  • Probability (M.S. in Statistics - Spring 2019)
  • Introduction to Statistics (Undergraduate - Fall 2018)
